A Celebration in Hollywood
Best known as Hollyweird and so many other catchy names – our beloved Tinseltown just turned a whopping 125 years old on Wednesday. Everyone came out of the woodwork to celebrate the occasion from Councilmen Eric Garcetti, Tom LaBonge to TV host Jimmy Kimmel whom all shared their birthday wishes for Hollywood.
On Wednesday Afternoon – The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce along with the help of the Food Network rolled out the red carpet in celebration of this momentous milestone. And what would a party in Hollywood be without a flash mob? Yes they even had one of those! The celebration took place at the Hollywood & Highland complex just across the street from Jimmy Kimmel LIve and down the hill from Runyon Canyon and was complete with a HUGE cake decorated with tons of Hollywood history.
The History of Hollywood
Feb. 1, 1887: Harvey Wilcox filed with the city a grid map for a 120-acre subdivision that was first known as Hollywoodland.
Hollywood is home to our beloved Runyon Canyon and one of the best places to live and visit in the world. There is always something happening here and anyone that lives here – loves it. There is no better place to be and I wouldn’t change this place for the world.
