In the early morning hours of Saturday a woman was victimized by an attacker in broad daylight while walking her dog near Runyon Canyon. Some witnesses recorded the entire event on their cell phones when they heard the woman’s screams during the attack.
Witnesses and police report it all went down around 8am just down the street from Runyon Canyon as the victim was on a routine walk with her dog towards the park. It all happened suddenly when the attacker identified as 21-year-old Dejan Sebastian tackled the woman to the ground and attempted to tear off her clothes.
Other Runyon Canyon hikers and yogis there for the early 8:45am class rushed to the woman’s aid and not only stopped Sebastian’s attack but also held him until the authorities arrived.
Authorities report that Sebastian is being held on a $100,000 bail.
No injuries have been reported from the victim.
