Can you mix R422B and R422D?
You should not mix different refrigerants. It would make a new blend and non of the txv’s would know what they were doing then, PT charts would be inaccurate etc.
Is R422B a replacement for R22?
R422B can be used to COMPLETELY replace R-22 refrigerant in new or existing R-22 residential and commercial air conditioning systems as well as non-flooded evaporator chillers. Cannot be added to R-22 unless fully evacuated and recharged with 422B. Click on link below for full EPA disclosure.
Is R422B compatible with mineral oil?
Refrigerants: National™: HFC: R422B The hydrocarbon component in R422B helps promote oil return in systems containing mineral oil or alkylbenzene. Although HFC refrigerants won’t mix with these oils, the hydrocarbon component thins the mineral oil and keeps it moving around the loop.
What type of freon replaces R22?
R22 is being replaced by R-410A, a safer material which is the current, compliant standard refrigerant in air conditioning equipment.
Is there a refrigerant that can be mixed with R22?
Mixing R22 with R407C or any other refrigerant. According to the 609 EPA rule, mixing refrigerants is illegal and anybody caught doing so will be heavily fined. If your system is running on R22 most likely is using mineral oil to lubricate the compressor.
Can I drop 407c on top of R22?
Mixing R22 with R407C or any other refrigerant. According to the 609 EPA rule, mixing refrigerants is illegal and anybody caught doing so will be heavily fined. R22 is a HCFC chemical gas that create a chain reaction in the stratosphere and thin the ozone layer that protect us from the UV light of the sun.
Which is better R-422B or nu-22b?
This research suggests that an R-422B blend will work equally well in mineral-based or polyolester-based refrigerant systems. McKinney said, “NU-22B has far more than a white paper or a few lab tests to prove its worth.
Do you need to replace the r422d HVAC unit?
R422D has been known to have issues at medium to low temperatures, so if you’re somewhere that it gets chilly I wouldn’t recommend it, and I would just say go with Nu-22b, it’s a consistent product, and when those units need to be replaced you can get something with a little more efficiency. Thanks for the input.
Is there a loss of efficiency with the R-422B?
It is also reported that a small loss of efficiency will result with R-422B. An Emerson marketing bulletin dated Nov. 24, 2008 said, “Oil return to the compressor is critical to compressor reliability and the overall long-term reliability of the system.
Is the drop in refrigerant R-422B approved for use?
One of the options considered is the drop-in refrigerant R-422B. Equipment manufacturers are generally following the guidance of their OEM compressor suppliers. Emerson Climate Technologies, manufacturer of Copeland® brand products, has said that R-422B has not been tested or approved for use in Copeland compressors and could void the warranty.
