How do I take the NOVA placement test?
You must bring a current Photo ID and know your NOVA Student ID number to take a placement test.
- Examples: Driver’s license, military ID, passport, personal identification card from DMV, NOVACard Photo ID or Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).
- Log in to the MyNOVA site to find your Student ID number (EmplID)

What is accuplacer ESL?
ACCUPLACER ESL is a set of computer-adaptive, untimed tests that enables you to test students quickly and efficiently across a wide range of abilities. The ESL tests can be administered separately or with other ACCUPLACER tests to help maximize student performance.

Do you have to take a placement test at Nova?
Most U.S. students will not need to take a placement test at NOVA. Students should visit the Direct Enrollment and Self Placement site to learn more about new placement measures and to fill out an Advising Survey to determine which college level Math and English courses to start with.
What is the Spanish placement test at NVCC?
Students should reach out to [email protected] to request the Spanish Placement Test. The Spanish Placement Test is an adaptive timed test in CANVAS that consists of 1-4 sections. You must pass each section with an acceptable score to continue to the next.
