Are our generation dolls the same as American Girl?

Our Generation® dolls are 18-inches tall, making them comparable to American Girl® dolls. The two brands of dolls have very similar bodies, and are pictured above in 123 Mulberry Street Gotchies both made from the same size pattern in order to show the similarities and differences in their proportions.

Why did they discontinue American Girl dolls?

Due to the nature of the Girl of the Year line being limited edition collections, the dolls were retired in a set schedule. Each doll and several items are released at the start of the year. The only items originally left available after the girl’s year had ended are books and other media, such as Chrissa’s movie.

Is American Girl doll hair better than our generation?

Doll hair is always a pain in the butt to maintain no matter the doll, but our American Girl dolls’ hair has definitely held up better and it easier to brush through. This may or may not be a deal breaker for buyers, but I find the doll’s hair to be super important!
