The amount of tests available per day is limited. If follow-up treatment or support is needed, this is provided for free by HSE-funded STI clinics in Dublin and Cork. You can also access confidential sexual and reproductive health services and support from any of the HSE’s clinics across Ireland.
Can you detect HIV with a blood test?
An antigen/antibody test performed by a laboratory on blood from a vein can usually detect HIV infection 18 to 45 days after an exposure. Antigen/ antibody tests done with blood from a finger prick can take longer to detect HIV (18 to 90 days after an exposure).
What HIV test is used in Ireland?

If you are a man who has sex with women then SH:24 can provide you with a simple way to get tested for four of the most common STIs. You will need to provide two samples to test for Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, HIV & Syphilis. This means providing a blood and urine sample.

How do I get tested for STDs in Ireland?
